hello everyone, im looking for a habanero brat recipie......is there a special one or can I just add them to any brat recipe? I have an abundance of them from the garden this year :D
Thanks!
Just add them to any recipe.
I add jalapeƱos to my brat recipe. Habaneros should work just fine. Take it easy at first until you figure out the heat. :o ;D
In case you don't have a brat recipe here's one. like the others said just add habannero to it
5 lbs. Pork butt
5 lbs. Veal, lean
1 pt Cream
3 Tbs Salt
2 Tbs Dextrose
1 Tbs Black Pepper, ground
1 tsp Nutmeg, ground
1 tsp Coriander, ground
1 tsp Mace, ground
Do a search on "Habanero Sausage Recipes", that will give you a few recipes which you can use as a guideline to how much you should add to your brat recipe.
I use this one.
Makes 10 lbs
7 lbs lean meat
1.5 lb pork butt
1.5 lbs pork fat
4 T salt
3 T sugar
4 T chopped fresh parsley
2 T finely chopped habanero or more for your desired heat level (core the seeds if you dont want so hot)
2 eggs
1 1/4 t black pepper
1 1/4 t whit pepper
1 t nutmeg
1 t mace
1 t ginger
1 cup cold water
2 cup whey or non fat dry milk (acts as a binder. This is opt)
clean and prepared hog casings. 33-36mm
If you like venison you can sub it for the pork.
8.5 lbs venison
1.5 lbs beef fat such as brisket, steak trim
Sounds tasty. I need to try that...
