Title: hot brick question
Post by: hybridcx on October 03, 2013, 05:52:42 PM
so I have the single element in my obs and it has a hard time cooking but does great with sausage and fish and what i mostly use it for. I am wanting to add some wrapped bricks for the times i do butts brisket ect. I also run my OBS with a auber dual probe pid. would I have to reprogram the pid if I did do this??

I run the duel element with my auber so no bricks for me, but I am thinking the little difference the bricks will make I would not bother. You could do a dry run with the bricks and a separate digital thermometer to see if its out from the pid temp. Plus or minus 5 degrees I would not be to concerned.
