Wife likes to use meat tenderizer on steaks when I grill. After reading the bottle I found it had an ingredient that I was not familiar with and decided to research it on the web. Here is a link to what I found: http://science.howstuffworks.com/innovation/edible-innovations/pineapple-enzyme-tenderize-steak1.htm
I am sure that many of you already knew this information (especially those of you who are school trained in the culinary arts), but I thought that others like myself might find it interesting.
Guess you better not suck on a pineapple slice for too long lol. :P
Interesting read, thanks for posting
Thanks for the post WC. Great post. I had never heard of Bromelain but then again I'm not school trained in Culinary Arts either!
I remember a friend of ours had us over for kabobs. She wanted the "island" taste so she put the meat chunks in the Reveo with pineapple and other fruit juices for a half hour. When she pulled the meat out of the fridge later that day it disintegrated!
We had pizza for dinner instead ;D

My dad did that years ago with fish and a citrus marinade that he left on for way to long
