Title: Pink Salt question
Post by: TPerk on November 07, 2013, 07:29:32 PM
Going to try out the Ruhlman andouille recipe again this weekend. I made some last fall and at the time I bought some pink salt from my butcher. Just wondering if the pink salt will still be OK to use even after one year? I've kept it in an airtight tupperware container in the back of my spice shelf since last fall, so it hasn't been in direct sunlight or anything.

If it gets off-colored streaks in it. it has gone bad.. It may have not been properly stored. we sell 1lb (454g) of prague powder #1 and #2 online at www.stuffers.com (http://www.stuffers.com) its $5.95 for each.. It is white in color. In the US a coloring agent is required to be added to look pink.
