Title: Proper / Improper venting
Post by: iceman on June 07, 2006, 01:46:02 PM
Thought you folks might want to see why everyone stresses keeping the vent opened far enough.
The two on the left got toasted from having the vent closed to much. The one on the right is one I reconditioned.

The back up of smoke from having the vet closed wiped out this guys generator. It fried the stop and advance switches and some wiring all because he kept the vent closed to much.

Maybe this smoke/heat back draft problem should be sticky posted for dig BS newbies.  The dig generator boxes have a lot more innards to fry.
