Title: Turkey - time per pound
Post by: JayM on November 27, 2013, 03:23:16 PM
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Is there a general guide for time in the bradley per pound for a turkey? Don't have the option of smoking and then throwing in the oven other than to crisp the skin, so it's all bradley all the time.

The bird is 15lbs so I'd like to get a ballpark of how long it'll take. Obviously IT will dictate when it goes in the oven for crisping but I don't want to start it too late.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I did a 9 lb bone-in breast that took 7 hrs and an 11 lb whole turkey that took 9 hrs to get to 160 F.  Cooked at 220 F  Unmodified OBS so recovery took almost an hour when I first put the birds in.
