Title: Nitta collagen casings?
Post by: mez on December 08, 2013, 11:51:13 AM
Got some 18 mm Nitta collagen casings from Con Yeager .Question is does anyone soak them like the package says I thought collagen doesn't get soaked?Well I didn't soak them but when I tried to cut them into smaller stix with scissors  before smoking them they split wide open.Is it the casings or have I just been lucky all this time with cutting them like this?

I never used to soak mine but lately I have been soaking them as for the very reason you mentioned. I think it gives a little extra forgiveness for when you over stuff.
