Title: Thermometers Dead!
Post by: viper125 on December 24, 2013, 01:57:50 PM
Well my instant read broke when half thinking it would pierce the crackling skin at the hog roast so i poked harder.  and My maverick quit reading on one side now the other finally went. Being two years old figure its a waste to call. So ordered me a new one for Christmas. At 60.00 their cheap for the insurance and control they do. Got me a nice charcoal grey and even threw in a pair of claws similar to bear claws. I could use a pair. The others finally bit dust too! Must of been working them all to hard.
Well my question is.... do I want to pay 96.00 for a thermapen or not. Seeing lots of others out there now and just dont know. There is a copy of the thermapen don't remember the name but its alot like thermapen.
So come back here t see what every one thinks. Is there better now? Or as good. Or is it still the best 96.00 thermometer?  and no 6-12 secs. Just don't cut it. As if your a looking you ain't a 'cooking! LOL!

also a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.

I have called them (thermapen) and ordered refurbished units the last 2 times I bought them. At the time I got them for $79 including shipping. After a year, one crapped out and they replaced it for free.
