Title: Hoppin' John
Post by: hal4uk on January 01, 2014, 06:58:46 PM
Well, had to have black-eyed peas for good luck in 2014, so...

Figured I'd try this recipe:

Needed Tasso, so I pretty much made some like Squirt did a while back...
(No pics of mine, but I did about the same thing)

And this was the result (burrrrrrrp)...

I'm no fan of black eyed peas, but those look delicious.

I may try that next year. My sister makes Hoppin' John that includes collard greens. This year I ate the collard greens and black-eyed pea as two separate sided dishes. The collard greens are for prosperity .

We lost a fridge full of pork..    I was able to reboot the PID controller on the fridge, but 2 cases of cooked butts were a total loss.

I had cabbage in my HJ!   Not enough, apparently.   :(

Give some to Pat and add some greens.  Some cornbread too wouldn't hurt.  You need to change your luck.
