Title: Smoking burgers
Post by: chironomidaddict on January 07, 2014, 08:05:59 AM
So....... My daughter turned 1/2 way to thirty today ( 15) she is a wreck, getting old!!!
She wants burgers and mashed potatoes for dinner, is it possible to smoke burgers? Thought it would be different as she really enjoys smoked food.
Thanks for any input.

Welcome and yes. You do not want it to stay at lower temps for very long though. Crank up the heat all the way and smoke. If you can not get the smoker up to around 220 F or higher, then smoke for about 20 minutes and transfer to grill or frying pan on stove to finish it off. You will not need a lot of smoke for burgers.

I have cold smoked burgers, then done them on the grill with good success.  Just run your smoke generator without the heating element.  If I remember correctly, I only put 40 minutes of smoke to the burgers, then on to the drill they went.

Good Luck,
Jeff

If you had a BCS you could do the whole smoke and cook in one little unit, smoked burgers is one of the things the BCS excels at.
