I'm curious about how you guys are using meat thermometers?  Is the best way to run the wire through the top vent?

I usually drop mine through the top vent, although sometimes I just close the door on the wire if I'm going to have to do a lot of rack rotating and either way works fine.

I used to run it through the top vent but it would get in the way when I'd have it clipped to a lower rack and I had to move racks around.  Now I just run it between the door and seal.  The wire is small enough that the door still seals tightly with no heat or smoke leaks.
