Title: Hello from Rhode Island
Post by: mrielly on May 26, 2014, 08:21:31 AM
Hi all!

I am new to smoking meats. I got a Bradley Original Smoker for Christmas and have been itching to use it since. Yesterday was my first attempt at smoking ribs and I was presently surprised how good they came out! I didn't really know what I was doing but thanks to this forum I managed to figure it out.

Looking forward to learning more from everyone here!

Cheers!

Welcome to the forums, M.

You might enjoy looking at the attached link to "the recipe site".  I find it is a great source of detailed information and ideas about things I might smoke.  These recipes are by some of the forums most experienced smokers and every one that I have tried has been outstanding.

As you read posts, you will find references to "Jan's Rub".  It's on the recipe site.  I understand it was originally developed as a chicken rub.  But, it's a great multi purpose rub.  It's my go-to rub for pork shoulder when I'm doing pulled pork.
