Title: Pork loin - smoked, crock pot & pulled
Post by: WoodlawnSmoker on June 09, 2014, 02:26:45 PM
I picked up a load of pork loin that was on sale for $2/lb to do some Canadian bacon and figured I'd experiment with a bit of pulled.  I've seen a couple of recipes here that say loin can be pulled but I wasn't sure as it didn't have much fat.

I smeared it with yellow mustard, covered with Jan's rub and sat it in the refrigerator overnight.  Then I gave it 2 hours of alder smoke in the Bradley at 220 F.  Then it went into the slow cooker on low for 8 hours with the following ingredients:

diced plum tomatoes
cider vinegar
Worcestershire sauce
Soy sauce
dry mustard
chopped onion
hot sauce

It worked well, shredded well and very moist.  I didn't take many pictures as I was more curious to see if it would work.  It did and I'll do this again if loin goes on sale.

Shredded before it went back into the sauce

That is good to know, thanks for sharing !  Looks yummy.
When the pork loins are on sale I'll probably give that a try.

I love it when an experiment turns out great. :)
