Post by: brewnque on July 15, 2006, 01:08:16 PM
bought a 4 1/4 lb point or so i was told it was the point.......looks more like the flat to me after seeing some pics........but anyway the bradley recipe says to cook for about 9 hrs........dont have a therm. to check temps so was wondering  what other peoples exp have been with cook times in the bs........also do i put the rub on the night before or do i apply the rub just before it goes in the bs

Brewnque I like to put my rub on the night before, but others put it on right before smoking. As far as time goes it depends on temp of the smoker but I use a digital meat thermometer kinda takes the guess work out of it.Hope this helps and dont be a stranger.

I agree. Not knowing where you live I can only say that Sears carries the WebbStyle wirless. $30.00.

Next I would not allow my box to get any hotter than 205F. Some smoke it hotter.

thanks for the tips..........it didnt turn out to bad........put the rub on the night before.......smoked for about 8 hrs at around 225......turned out a little on the dry side but was still enjoyable and really not that bad for a first try.......will get myself a probe therm. im sure that will help alot for the 2nd try
