Title: Smoked Spam (Hormel, not email)
Post by: markc57 on July 12, 2014, 08:57:40 PM
There is always a can of Spam in our pantry. My wife refuses to eat it. So about once a year, the can-opener comes out and the dogs and I skillet-fry a can of unknown pig parts. A little while back, I was messing around in the yard, and decided to try smoking the spam. Cut the Spam into three slabs, and did a 2 hour cold smoke with hickory. Also did a pound of store-bought bacn same time.  VASTLY improved the Spam, as it did the bacon. Even my wife admitted rhe Spam was practically edible.  Ate two of the smoked Spam slabs, froze the other. Froze the bacon in 1/4 pound batches for sammies and salads later.  Next time, I'll do a couple cans of Spam and a couple packages of bacon - freeze it all for later
