well im working on a new marinade recipe so far this is pretty good but it seems it needs a lil something, am asking for opinions if it should stand or what to add along with quantity
½ CUP LEMON JUICE, FRESHLY SQUEEZED
½ CUP EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
1 CUP BURGUNDY WINE
½ CUP SOY SAUCE
½- 1 CUP BROWN SUGAR ( DEPENDING ON HOW SWEET YOU WANT IT )
2 TBSP BLACK PEPPER
2 TBSP LAWRYS SEASONED SALT
5 - 6 TBSP MINCED GARLIC
my personal opinions to add in is
2-3 tbsp ground mustard
thanks in advance
I'm all for adding the mustard !That would have been my suggestion.
We going to be using it on pork or beef?
If you leave brown sugar out or use Very little, how about lamb? Mustard is good
am planning to use it on tri tip
How about a bit of worcestershire sauce?

Ditto - or better yet substitute soy sauce with worcestershire.
I second the Worcestershire but use the thick one.
x2 on substitute soy sauce with Worcestershire.
did a test run on it
1/4 CUP LEMON JUICE, FRESHLY SQUEEZED
1/4 CUP EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
1/2 CUP BURGUNDY WINE
1/4 CUP WORCESTERSHIRE
1 CUP BROWN SUGAR ( DEPENDING ON HOW SWEET YOU WANT IT )
1 TBSP BLACK PEPPER
1 TBSP LAWRYS SEASONED SALT
3 TBSP MINCED GARLIC
then tasted it,, was good and then added 1/4 cup soy sauce and in my opinion with the soy sauce it was better. am gonn do tri tip with it for labor day
Here is a marinade recipe I got from my mom, it's great for steak:
3/4 cup veg oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 T minced onion
2 T vinegar
1 large clove garlic, minced
1.5 t ginger
combine all ingredients, pour over steak 4 or more hours before grilling.
I like the looks of your recipe and the suggestions you've gotten, the only input I have is that I would use lime juice instead of lemon but that's just my personal preference. I think the lime juice just has a better flavor in marinades.
