Title: No power to new BTDS108P
Post by: jgabay on December 06, 2014, 09:04:06 AM
I just got a new digital smoker (BTDS108P) and I can't get it to start.  I get no power when plugged in.  I verified that everything is plugged in correctly.  Used 2 different outlets and verified that the outlets work.  I get no lights no sounds nothing.  This is brand new out of the box.  Any ideas?  I was hoping on using it this weekend but instead it may be heading back.

First, welcome to the forum although I wish it would have been under better circumstances.

Try unplugging the power cords and plugging them back in with emphasis on plugging in tightly. The plugs on new smokers are sometimes hard to plug in all the way unless you force them.  If that doesn't work, try plugging the tower in directly to an outlet temporarily to see if the element heats up.

If it does then the problem is inside the SG.  Click here for additional information:  There is no power to smoker, what should I do? (http://www.susanminor.org/forums/showthread.php?488-Answers-To-Bradley-Smoker-FAQ-s&p=771#post771)
