Title: First Success
Post by: ndcardinal on December 30, 2014, 03:01:14 PM
Big thanks to all those on this forum for getting me on the right path with my first pork butt

3.6 lb pork butt.  Marinated night before with beer and seasoning
4.8 lbs the next morning
Started at 205 with smoke at 7:45am
Stopped smokin around noon
Ran till 5:30 when we made it to 190 IT.
Then let it rest for an hour till serving.  It was great.  My only critic was the flavor of beer I used.  I used a seasonal Leinenkugel Winters Bite that may have had too much bite.
But it was great.
