Title: Long Tradition
Post by: OldHickory on January 02, 2015, 11:23:57 AM
For as long as I can remember, my family and I have had this meal for " good luck " for the New Year.

The cook had some quality control on one of the corn sticks before serving.

Black-eyed peas, greens, smoked pork shoulder, a glass of red wine, and corn bread.  I don't know if it brings good luck, but I do know it is a good meal to start out the New Year.  Happy New Year Everyone.

I figure it's good luck on any day to enjoy a meal like that, looks great.  I love the corn bread sticks, I've never seen bread pans like that, I could think of a hundred uses.  I'll have to look them up.

I've never had Black eye peas or greens like this but I can take two orders of the rest. I guess those greens must be similar to cooked spinach which I love with Butter and salt and a bit of vinegar.
