Title: First time brisket, going to try this weekend, need help.
Post by: elevernier on June 11, 2015, 07:26:06 AM
Guys,
Going to try a brisket for the same time this weekend in my BOS, looking for a link to a good recipe, or any advice you may have.
I am new to smoking in general and am a bit intimidated to try this, but looking forward to it as well.

Thanks of sharing any knowledge.
Ed

Some great video's on youtube on smoking briskets . most important is the rub and letting meat set in fringe for rub to soak in . I let my meat set at least 12 hours or longer before putting in smoker and make sure smoker is up to smoking temp before putting in smoker .   also stay away from hickory to strong a taste i use alder and apple most the time for beef leave a nice lite sweet smoke taste

What he said. Look in the Beef section and pay special attention to posts by Pachanga - he's the Brisketmeister.
