I am going to do the 900 Watt mod and will be changing all the wiring inside to a 14 guage wire. How many feet do I need to change everything?

Get 10 ft & you will have enough in case you make a mistake, there will be enough to redo.
Alan
perfect thanks, Local stores won't sell me some so I need to find a source online.
you should be able to find high temp wire at any appliance repair or parts store. in Edmonton I found mine at AMRE supply on 75st
you can get it at Allied Kenco

I have well over 100 smokes since upgrading to the 900 watt element, I never upgraded the wire and wonder why you would?
Same here. I'm been running the dual 500W element mod (1000W total) for at least 3 years and the original wiring is still doing fine.
It's recommend to change the wire to a higher guage, im sure the existing wire works fine.

when i did my upgrade, i also upgraded the wiring to 14 gage some 8 years ago and never looked back, never had a problem with the wire or the heater,
K thanks, do you know off by hand what terminals you used? Want to get everything before I open up the unit. I know I need terminal rings for the heater but what about the when connecting it to the back of the plug? What size of these do I need If any http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0071NC78C/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?qid=1438558108&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=High+temp+wire (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0071NC78C/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?qid=1438558108&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=High+temp+wire)

Rings terminal number 8 stud with 14 awg and spades connectors ( Quick Disconnect), 1/4 stud with 14 awg. The awg depends on the seize of your wire. For wire, check for MGT high temp wire (rated higher temperature).
Thank you

Would this size fit the 900 Watt element connector bolts?

Oops! these are for 2x 500 sorry. The quick disconnects stay the same but i have no idea about the rings connectors. Sorry again for my mistake.
Ghost, The terminals on the element are a little over 3/16" dia. (I don't have a metric scale handy)or .187". 8 gauge has a dia. of .1719" or 4.37 mm. 7 ga. has a dia. of .187", 6 ga, .2031. Since the stud size measures a little over 3/16" I suspect that 7ga would take a little reaming. The 6 ga would be about perfect.
okay thanks so something like this would fit the 900 watt element http://www.amazon.com/Morris-Products-11036-Terminal-Insulated/dp/B005GDFNY4/ref=sr_1_9?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1438713506&sr=1-9&keywords=non+insulated+ring+terminal+%236 (http://www.amazon.com/Morris-Products-11036-Terminal-Insulated/dp/B005GDFNY4/ref=sr_1_9?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1438713506&sr=1-9&keywords=non+insulated+ring+terminal+%236)
Check!
If I upgrade the existing wiring should I use the inline fuse and the replacement temperature sensor that is already there, or should I by pass them? I have the original Bradley smoker

you should leave them in place even tho it will be the smaller wire than you upgraded to
So should I connect the new wire to the old?
