Title: Maverick et-733 and Dual PID temp way off
Post by: ghosttown on September 26, 2015, 11:04:04 AM
Hi, I am smoking two birds as a write this and the Dual PID temp is  giving me a reading of 182 and the maverick is giving me a reading of 268. Both probes are on the same rack and close to each other. This is a huge difference. Reading on the Bradley door smoker is giving me 220 or so

Boil some water on the stove and see which (if either) probe reads 212ish.  Just don't let water into the end of the probe where the wire comes out.

Didn't notice the probe from the PID was touching the meat, after I moved it both the maverick and Dual PID was about few degrees apart. Assuming that is normal

Yeah, a couple/few degrees is normal, wide variation isn't.
