Title: Just getting started and my smoker won't get up to temp
Post by: allykken on October 07, 2015, 02:49:42 PM
I am trying to do the initial seasoning and can't get the temp above 100 degrees.  I've turned the temp up to high and still no luck.  I will continue to play with it, but so far no luck.

Hi allykken;

Welcome to the forum.

It would be helpful if you mention what model you have.

The below link may be helpful. Although the BS611 is not listed, most of the tips apply to that model also.

Sounds like the heating element is not coming on.  Check the short power jumper cable that goes from the smoke generator to the tower.  That cable is what supplies power to the heating element.  Make sure it is firmly plugged in at both ends.
