Title: BTDS76P not heating above 100 degrees even following change of heating element
Post by: Billc123 on October 10, 2015, 01:45:40 PM
I have checked all connections and fuses...but the heating element will not get above 100 degrees F.  I have the smoker turned off so as to diagnose this issue.  Any help would be great

if you  have a ohm meter,,,  check the heating element,,, it  should be between  28 and 32 ohms,,, you may have  a bad  element

Thanks Beefman...I will give that a try once back in town.  Any chance a board in the digital unit is bad?

I had the same problem when I got my 6 rack a few years.   Check all the connections inside the smoke generator.   That was my problem and it fixed it.
