Title: Door off?
Post by: Penguin on April 13, 2016, 03:51:19 PM
Wife and I bought a new smoker and I was getting the smoker set up I noticed the door does not seal at all and was wondering if anyone else had run into this at all. The door doesn't close, or I suspect it does but the seal doesn't.

Hi Penguin;

Welcome to the forum.

It is difficult to see where on the door it is not sealing properly. Either the door is bent, the seal is compressed, or the seal is damaged.

If it is compressed, it should expand back when you are seasoning the cabinet, and after a couple of cooks it should be fully sealed.

A few years ago I had to replace my door, and the seal was compressed in an area just like your picture. Click on the link below and scroll down to "Additional Installation Steps".

If the door or seal is damage,  contact Bradley.

Great to hear it was just a compressed seal. You are now on you way to making some good smoked foods.
