Title: Hi from British Columbia
Post by: kootenay on April 24, 2016, 02:28:23 PM
I'd say my smoking skill is quite low as I have only been smoking on the little chief. I was happy with it but I wanted to kick it up a notch. I researched and I have just set up my new Bradley digital smoker. I have it seasoning as we speak. I'm super excited about my purchase and am stoked about this forum, it's great to have such a valuable resource available. I feel I am starting out the right way.

My wife and I have just returned from our visit to Austin Texas, home of the BBQ. Oh good Lord that was incredible. Hence my purchase. If anyone on this forum is from Texas, I have to say that I have never in my 45 years of living, had such beautiful BBQ as I did in Texas and the most friendliest welcome. Just awesome.

Kootenay, welcome from the Shuswap just west of you.  When in Austin did you get to Franklin's for brisket.  Check out his brisket video's on youtube.

Hi there. We never made it to Franklin's but we hit up Terry Blacks, Le Barbecue, Stiles Switch, Iron Works, and two others I don't remember. We wanted to go to Franklins but ran out of time. I did hear it was the best, but in saying that, all of the others were the best I have ever had.

I'd love to have a bike like your's but am currently enjoying mine. I just smoked a delicious pork tenderloin tonight for us and the neighbours and it was fantastic. Well next time you are out this way, look me up and I could take you for a great tour of the area.
