Title: Smoker as oven?
Post by: frankgp on June 01, 2016, 09:04:54 AM
I have BDS with Auber dual probe and dual element modification. Has anyone with this setup tried using it as an oven at higher (350-425) temperatures?

I imagine that would certainly trip the high temp limit sensor.  Also, I wouldn't trust the insulation to withstand those higher temps.  The Bradley wasn't designed for that.

That does make sense. I hadn't thought about that. I guess i'll have to stick to indirect heat on the gas grill.

Frank, the high limit sensor that Ted talks about trips at about 300 degrees.  So, your Bradley flat out won't work as an oven.
