Hello all,
I'm new to the bradley. Just used my new bradley original xlt last night. First thing I noticed it took forever to heat up in 35° weather.

Hello and welcome to the Forum. Yeah it takes a while to heat up. I use boiling water in the bowl and let the meat warm up at room temperature before placing the meat in the smoker.
Also, keep it shielded as best as you can from wind. The wind will suck the heat right out of the vent. Do not be tempted to close the vent, thinking it will retain the heat better. That will lead to other problems. Plus, do not use an extension cord between your smoker and outlet.
And finally, welcome aboard. I probably should have said that first. :)
Welcome to the form. there's a great knowledge base here. You've come to the right place
