Title: Hello from Texas USA
Post by: allanglazier on March 11, 2024, 12:54:58 AM
Hi folks,
I'm brand new to the forums. Just ordered my first Bradley smoker yesterday after much research and mental debate. I got the obs. Can't wait for it to arrive. Looking forward to reading all the great advice on these forums.

Hi Allan;

Welcome to the forum.

While you are waiting for it to arrive, download the manual and familiarize yourself with the OBS before it arrives. If you are storing it outside, a cover is an essential needed accessory.

Setup your smoking area. You will need a table or a cart to place the Bradley on, and access to a GFCI outlet. A plastic table is alright to use, since the bottom of the smoker doesn't get that hot. But you want something sturdy. Though the smoker doesn't weigh that much, once it is loaded with food, it can get quite heavy. If using a plastic table, using 1/2-inch plywood top, would be enough to reinforce the top.

If you need to use an extension cord, get one that is at least 14 gauge - 12 gauge would be better. And you want to keep the length as short as possible.

If you have any questions, during your smoking journey; just ask.
