If this is what you got I don't think Bradley Briquesttes will give you what you want out of that grill. I would bet you will be using wood chips.
Nice grillin' / smoker though!

Mike, I've been wanting one of those for awhile myself. They were selling them for $165 at Johnson's BBQ Parts in North Van. Where did you get yours if you don't mind me asking? As for the Briquettes to use... I like to use lump charcoal (real wood) in my water smoker. Canadian Tire sells Royal Oak Lump Charcoal, but you better hurry, they're starting to pack up the BBQ stuff for the season. Enjoy.......let me know what you think of it. Thanks
I like the lump charcoal myself ;D.
MWS got mine at Rona in Coquitlam on Austin. They only had 1 left. Can I get that lump charcol at johnstons?Football season is in full swing and I have very little time :-\.But the kids make it all worth while ;D ;D.

BTW Mine does not have the metal right at the bottom
Great buy Mike!
You are going to enjoy that grill for many years.

There is probably about as much discussion/controversy around lump vs. briquettes as there is about anything else. Best bet is to use what you like best for flavor and cooking control. Briquettes tend to have a longer more stable temperature over time than lump. Lump tends to be a little hotter and cleaner. Binders in briquettes are usually the most detrimental to taste but if you properly allow them to ash over, that shouldn't be a problem. There are some out now without the binders (duraflame is suppose to have some but I haven't seen them on the shelves here). For either, I'd recommend a chimney with the webber parafin lighting cubes. I usually use the lump but have a hatchet handy as the lumps are all over the place in size. There can be a lot of waste with the lump since it turns into dust when you have to chop the big chunks down to size to fit in the smaller grills (not an issue in the big box offsets).

If you use lump charcoal in a Weber it will take a toil on it, mainly the grates. I do think that lump charcoal adds more taste. From the research that I have done Cowboy lump charcoal burns at a lower temperature and leaves a small amount of ash.
Because I did not want to burn up my Weber, I bought a Prime oval ceramic grill that I use with real charcoal. It is a man's grill.

Almost a new toy... not set yet on which one to get... choices, choices and more choices, but for the price this one cannot be beat for home defense. MSRP is $175.00 new. It is basically a copy of the Remington 870. I've talked with two people that own one and for I want they both agree it is a great simple rugged design and good overall length.
