Here's our dog Woody. Little info behind the name (it's not what you think :D) We got him as a puppy from the pound in '93. The kids liked the name Woody from the TV show Cheers and I liked Norm. The kids won out. Great dog, not a mean bone in his lazy body.

Great looking pup you got there. In fact all of the pets here look great.
I have to ask. Looking at the picture is that a modified nylon berber carpet? Say around 60- 70 ounces face weight? I like the color.
Now that Mother has moved in we have 4 dogs. I love them all, but Skyway is my boy! Best dang friend I've ever had. He gets up next to my rocking chair and I lay a leg over him and rock. It does us both good.

EDIT: If enough members want I can set up a place on the recipe site for our pets images and and a short story of each. Well CyberDude will do the hard part. Let me know!

I'm not sure, it is at my brothers house. They got it from a carpet store and had them "hem" the edges to make an area rug. They have stamped stained concrete floor with in-floor heating. (ground source heat pump). I can sure ask them about it though.
If YOU would plaese olds im in.If i can be.Hope to mend things out and move on.Thanks. ;)

Are you serious.Thats nuts.
Mike, Stella is my kind of cat :D :D :D
Mike where do you live? Over here the coons are not even afraid of the dogs. I was fishing one winter out at the discharge of the power plant and I was up close to the shore. Next dang thing I know I got two in the boat going for my fish. That was an interesting morning....

What you got holes in your socks? ;D Sure no member would be left out unless they want to be.
Olds, those raccoons were not afraid of her. they were more interested in eating the plums off the ground and would of batted Stella away if she tempted them. They had their fill of plums and went on their way....

Here is my boy Max. He is half Husky and half Bichon. The funny part of it is the Bichon was the father. For those of you that don't know the Bichon is a small little fluffy white dog. The people I got Max from bred Bichons but they also had a female Husky and I guess they figured what the heck. They said they had to put the Bichon up on a chair for the dogs to be able to do their business..LOL Whatever they did I got a great friend out of it.

This is Laney on the day she came to live with us.
She was sent by the SouthEastern Guide Dog Institute (SEGDI, pronounced "sedg-ee") for us to raise. Our previous puppy, Vincent (they are named by SEGDI), had gone back to college, graduated at the head of his class, and now is gainfully employed in Dade County, Florida. So we (my wife and I and our daughter as well as our 6 year old golden retriever, Charlie, and my daughter's 3 year old boxer, Keely) accepted Laney into our home. SEGDI named her "Elaine" (after someone who paid to sponser her) but we negotiated the nickname Laney. We were well into our puppy-raising program, when at 11 months, Laney had a series of seizure-like episodes, witnessed by us and (fortunately) by our vet. We offered to take her to dog-neurologists in Raleigh or Charlotte, but after receiving the documented info, SEGDI sent us a letter about "Elaine's career change." So now she is our pet. Those of you who have raised yellow labs or who have read "Marley and Me" know what our lives have been like for the past two years. Nonetheless, she is a dear member of the family. She has turned 8-year-old Charlie into a playful puppy again (actually he never grew out of puppyhood) and the three of them are fast friends and a good pack.
For those of you who love dogs, and might want to consider raising guide-dog puppies, I suggest you contact your local guide-dog center. SEGDI has a need for puppy-raisers all over the southeast. You can find them on the web at http://www.guidedogs.org/. For dog-lovers it is truly a rewarding experience. Highly recommended if you have the time and temprament to want to help train a puppy. It is difficult to let them go, but knowing where they've gone and what they're doing makes it really worthwhile.
This is Lily, our 11 year old Lab. Our nieghbor got her as a puppy but for some reason she never bonded with him but spent much time with us. After 5 years, as the neighborhood story goes, she packed up her dish and moved to our house.

These are my two boys Finn & Ben. English Springer Spaniels, 1 & 6 years old. Just before I took this pic the young dog had just caught and killed his first rat ( a big one at that). Being a novice he grabbed it by the ass and of course it bit him on the nose. Lots of blood hence the profile shot.
Nice looking boys there Dalby! :)
Nice dogs, Dalby. Beautiful country in the background too!
T2
Great photo setting. Enjoyed :)
Dalby, thanks for the profiling of the English. Our first dog was a pure breed English Springer that I rescued her from a another family. She was too old to teach how to hunt properly but we sure had fun in the yard when I brought home a few real fetches. Never quite understood why she was so good at catching the rats. I was always afraid she would get bit and end up with some disease or rabies. Looks like rat hunter is in the blood line. ;)
I'ts a strange thing that both these dogs will retrieve game like they were holding an egg. Gentle as you like. Dead or alive. But the first rat they came upon they shook to death instantly. Must be an instict thing.
Nice hunting dog huh. ???
