I'm having a bit of problems with my cooker that I hope someone might be able to help with. The smoke generator on my BS has a nasty habit of pushing out 5 or 6 bisquettes in a row without stoping! It'll be working just fine, then all of a sudden it pushes a ton of them down the ramp. Any ideas? My BS is about 5 years old, so no warranty to fall back on.
Thanks in advance.

Tom - I would call Bradley Smoker and discuss this with a customer servic peson. They replaced mine because it did not move bisquettes at all. Sweet talk them a little telling them what a great product the BS is. They just might send you another generator. Good Luck!

Tom,
When was the last time you cleaned out your feeder? Kinda sounds like the limit switch can't reach home & is recycling, probably because of a bunch of built up gunk.
Or it's toast![:D]
Feel free to give me a call.

Ya think next time I check into a hotel & they ask "Smoking or Non?" they would mind?
Chez Bubba (Kirk),
Thanks for the info, other than general cleaning, I have never cleaned out the feeder. I'm assuming the problem is probably gunk inside, so I'll open it up and give it a complete once-over. With any luck, that'll do it.
Thanks.

Kirk,
Is there a special way to clean out the feeder? I normally just pick up the smoker part of it a shake it upside down until all the wood flakes fall out.
Kellie,
That will work for basic maintenance, but after a while, the creosote wafts back through the feeder & creates the sticky stuff that really makes those bisquette flakes build up.
There are 6 screws on the perimeter of the bottom of the feeder that allow you to easily disassemble it. I take an old toothbrush & give it a go. There are also 4 screws that hold the pusher plate assembly in place. You'd be surprised at how much crap can build up in there.
It's all relative to how much you smoke at a time & how often you smoke. I try to give mine "the treatment" every 6 months or so, but I smoke several hundred pounds during that timeframe.

Chez,
I think using a toothbrush is a good idea for cleaning the smoke generator, but what cleaning agent do you use.<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"><i>Originally posted by Chez Bubba</i>
