Post by: MRH on September 28, 2006, 01:53:14 PM
I was surfing and seen this on another forum, its seems awful cheap but I thought I would post it in case anybody wanted to try it.

Thanks MRH. I just might try a few for the heck of it at that price. ;)

I've had a Nexxtech thermometer for about 1 1/2 years now. So far I haven't had any problems with it. Although I do have a Maverick on my Christmas wish list. ;)

I didn't see much of a description, but it looks like it can only be set to a few preset temperatures.

I have two of them and they are great IMO.

It has settings for:
Pork
Beef
Fish
Chicken
Veal
Turkey
Lamb
Hamburger

Each has a for settings of Rare, Med-rare Medium Well-done. They seem to read further (wireless) then the other units I've owned.

If they have a draw back it is the digital only reads to 199 F. If you want to read something hotter then that then you have to change it to Celsius. Which is no big deal as we have conversations programs on the recipe site.

BTW I paid retail for mine here @ $29.95 each.  However mine are not called NexxTech. Mine are labled Webber Style.
