Title: Smoking during the rain delay
Post by: Consiglieri on December 08, 2006, 10:09:00 PM
Rain looks to spoil my outing tomorrow so thought I'd experiment with the toy.  Too late to marinate or brine.  Any good ideas for the last minute?  Fall back idea is a mustard slathered rack of ribs w/ a spicy rub, apple juice mop after a few hours.  Store opens at 8 am; I can fire up the smoker before I head out, if its a larger project.  If necessary, I'm more than happy to tend to the box all day, by the tv, of course.

My imagination is on vacation and I appreciate the ideas.

Your rib idea sounds good. You could also do a couple of chickens with a dust of your favourite rub. Oven roasted potatoes with evoo and garlic--good for a rainy night's dinner.

Reading recipes in other threads worthy of exposing mommy parts... I love this place.  I don't think the Carats I cook with will get the same result, but I laughed out loud.

Now the wife thinks I'm in some other type of chat room, which would be totally wrong, of course.
