Hi all, hope you're all having a great Xmas, one of my jobs for the new year is to mod my BS with a PID. Just wondered if anybody knows how to set it up with a uk BS ?, or can anybody supply a wiring diagram suitable for the uk?

Can't help that much I am afraid other than to say that in one of the past posts here from our American friends regarding PID's I found the 240V UK equivalent model from the same manufacturer on this side of the pond..... seem to remember it cost about £50 - £60 but can't remember any other details..... sorry!
It was one of the posts that came complete with wiring instructions, I will try and have a search for it over the next few days but the point being is that there is a UK equivalent model out there somewhere to a PID recommended and used by someone here on the forum already. It is a while ago I researched it and the search on the forum is not very good IMO but I will give it a shot.

Aside from the 240V and plug requirements there should be no difference between US and here (Europe). I bought a 240 V unit off of e-bay with the temp readout in C rather than F and wired it as shown in a post on this forum. It works great. Just search for PID and I'm sure you'll see an appropriate wiring diagram.

Done a bit of research, seem to remember one of the PID's mentioned here on the forum which I found was available in the UK was "Red Lion", I do know there is a least one other but can't put my finger on that one at the moment.
However here are a few references that may well get you going, as 3rensho says the wiring itself should be the same.

If you find a UK or source on the continent for something similar I'd be interested. It has been running for a little over a year with no problems. I wouldn't want to go back to smoking without a PID.

Thanks 3rensho, i know of an electronics supplier not far from where i live, i'll see what they can do in the way of price etc, i looked at a PID a few weeks back in a shop, they wanted £120 for it, which i thought was a bit on the steep side :o
Anyway i'll have a scout around, see what's about ;)
