Wow, that's one heck of a present Olds. :)
When I first started at the hospital many years ago (1978) my then boss had an identical one to the picture. I used to get a lift home with him most days, at 6ft 6 ins tall I am not best suited to such cars but they are classic British motors.
Is the one in the picture the actual one you are getting? Looks RHD from the picture?

Good for you, nice little classic there, i still see the odd one being proudly driven on this side of the pond.
It was the other way around for one of my brothers and me, we were and still are i suppose into american cars, especially the 50's stuff.
My brother has owned a 55, 56, and 57 Chevy at various times, he sold the 57 a few years back, and still regrets it.
As you know, these cars are getting very rare nowdays, even on your side of the water.
Anyway i hope the MG gives you lots of pleasure, i'm sure it will ;)

No that is not a picture of it. However, it looks just like that one. I've been kickin' the tires on this one for close to seven years now with its owner. Yesterday we came to terms. It is all original.
Years ago I was going to a Christmas party in it. The traffic backed up and we stopped. Well this dude drives his pickup truck up to within inches of the back of the Midget. Ranger jumps out of the driver seat and as he is opening up the trunk he is yelling at the driver of the pickup something about now that he has opened the trunk up that driver can just climb on in!
We are going to enjoy this puppy when it gets here. BTW I only paid 4K for it.
Boy that one brings back memories. Last time I was in a MG was in the Navy days. One of the guys bought one from a fellow shipmate. He was having a problem with the tail lights blowing fuses. I traced the problem down to a red wire being connected to a black wire. Other wise known as the hot wire connected to ground. Found out that previous owner was color blind and had done some electrical work on the car. Seems black and red look the same when color blind. It was definatly tight quarters under the dash.
Friend of mine bought a MGB GT V8 last summer and let me use it one afternoon. Terrifying. No brakes, drums all round. Steering wheel like a London bus. No grip, skinny tyres and too much poke for the chassis. But I LOVED it. Enjoy Olds.

i call it little cars because all their cars are little... my wench used to have a 68 the same color... we stop at little cars all the time and look at the crazy euro creations thay have and of course the triumphs and mgs...
my wench wants your mg olds...
anyway... she has some advise... you better change out the all the wiring before you use it as a smoker because it will short out and burn to the ground for sure...
