Title: Alternative to Bradley Pucks
Post by: bologna man on August 18, 2004, 06:44:11 PM

This is just a thought [}:)] what if you would get some stainless steel thin wall tube (the same diameter as the pucks) weld on a bottom and have a top that has holes in it. Then fill this container with sawdust or shavings and substitute these for the pucks.[:0] The initial cost would be expensive [;)] but if you use a lot of pucks you could save in the long run. [:D]
Just a thought I don't know if this would be feasible. [?]

I think it would be more feasible to make a neoprene muffin pan-like container that you could fill with sawdust and some type of geletin to bind them together, and cast your own pucks out of any kind of wood chips and sawdust you wanted to use.   You could just pop them out once the "pucks" dried.  Too much of a PIA for me.  But someone might come up with something not so pricey to compete.

My brother-in-law tried it, decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Once you consider it's a buck an hour.

I'm with kirk on this one.  You are looking Mr.cheap butt here, when I first got my BS I thought of the same thing, still not worth it to me.  The main thing about the BS is the how easy everything is and to add less than the cost of a combo meal from Wendy's to my smoking cost, to me seems to be worth it.  But hey, some people like tinkering, go for it.

There is a saying I have about all things and their useage.

Thanks!

However, he really put a hurting on folk south of us. We have some friends who live on a river,,,err did live on a river. The only thing that is left is part of the house's foundation. No Bull Chit. Everything else washed away. They raised 5 kids in that house, so you know that house was more just a home to them.
