Title: HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE AND ALL
Post by: Wildcat on December 31, 2006, 06:41:38 AM
Happy New Year everyone.  I got back from central Florida last night and checked the forum for new posts since my departure.  Wow, there were 4 pages.  I decided to wait until today to read since I was exhausted.  When I checked this AM there was only one page.  What is up with that???

Olds, I was not able to make it to St. Pete which was disappointing to me, but we were simply just too active.  I will make it next time.  I really want one of those burgers.  We did have a wonderful Christmas with family and I hope everyone else had a good one as well.

I came back to the Florida panhandle and of course it is lousy weather.  Damn the luck.  I really need to rig a special shelter for my smoker and beverage holder.

From my experience with a visit to the site, not reading, then a new visit when I had more time, it appears the timer is set on the date of the visit not on what was read or not read from the last visit.  It makes sense since the data base and logistics to track everyone on every file would be ....... yah.

When you hit the no more messages point on your unread there is bold print that says something like click to check recent messages and they are usually listed there.  Another thing I do is on the home page spool back through the most recent postings.  It is near the bottom where members on line names appear.  Doing all 3 pretty well ensures you have not missed an important post.

and a happy new year it should be. Always a time to remember change to prepare for the change ahead.  The world is filled with wonderful cycles and it is easy to forget what's important.  My new year wish for all on the forum is we stay focused on what is important as the cycles of change come our way!
