Title: Anybody see Good Eats last night?
Post by: Malc on January 09, 2007, 06:26:28 AM
Last night the 7:00 episode of Good Eats featured curing, smoking and cooking your own bacon.  It was pretty interesting to see it done.  I have never tried it, but I am sure many of you have.  He made a pretty cool cold smoker out of some old lockers.  Anyway, here is a link to recipes from the show if anybody is interested.  http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_ea/episode/0,1976,FOOD_9956_20097,00.html

It was an interesting show Malc. I didn't like the bicycle powered refer though. To much work for this old man. :o :D
I'll just stick it outside in the shed with a heater to keep it from freezing. Minus 20F right now in Wasilla and I think JimGuy said it hit minus 30 at his place.
It only took 5 hours to get my smokers up to temp last weekend for the pastrami. Time to stay inside and play with pizza dough or something like that. ;D
You need to try bacon. Once you make your own you'll be spoiled for sure. ;) :)
