;D I'm looking for a recipe for Indian Candy any help would be welcome ::)
I believe the recipe from Kummok will give you what you are looking for. Here is the link from Olds' Recipe site.

I have used this and was very impressed with the results.
Note to Olds,
When trying to locate Kummok's recipe, the link inside one of the posts pointing to the thread above, still had the old site URL imbedded. Don't know if you have a search and replace tool (or the time) that could help out with some of the old embedded links but I thought I'd let ya know. :)
I've been looking for an Indian Candy recipe too - the local Whole Foods has a great product. It's different from Kummok smoked salmon, as this is much sweeter and almost sticky/tacky on the outside. Any clues?
You might take a look at Red Fox's web page and his "Injun candy" Well done how to pictorial.
Find it interesting that he brines, does a slight drying of the salmon and then cold smokes. The end product is not cooked at all

I met Greg through the C-Dory users group, if you visit his site be sure to check out some of his photo albums. He takes some of the most beautiful pictures of Alaska I have ever seen. He also has details of his home built smoke house the "borg cube"

Cheapguy's got it right....mine's considered "kippered", but squaw candy is actually dried with light smoke and no heat, typically in strips. Do a search on "Indian candy" or "squaw candy" on this forum....there's more threads on this topic....
Gizmo, your tip gets my own personal " 8) Link O' the Year 8)" award! I have a history of preferring SeaSport over C Dory (don't like the C's flatter bottom in rough seas, otherwise great boat!), but everything else about Red Fox's info has the "WOW, that's what I've always wanted to do!" lifestyle all over it! Highly recommended site for those that want to see how life is REALLY meant to be lived... ;) ;D Hats off to Red Fox and to you!! 8)
Sorry Kummok, can't take the credit for that... Kudos would go to shearwater.
I also enjoyed the pictures.
BTW, "Kummok Candy" ;D is still tops on my list.
Opps! Sorry Shearwater :-[ LOVED the site you gave us!
I had to laugh at the "Kummok Candy" a bit, Gizmo....seems the older I get, the less salt and more brown sugar goes into the cure. It really is headed toward "candy" at la casa de Kummok! ;) ;D
I started to relax just looking at the pictures of the boat running acrss the water. :)
Wow!, i just visited Red Fox's site, what a way to live! truly amazing, would suit me just fine ;)
