Hi Folks

Had to put this one for my 12 year old boy, Matt. Took his first trout today. About 1 3/4 lb rainbow on a Mepps. Pleased as punch. I took one about the same on the fly ( damsel nymph) Give you all 1 guess where these are going!! Kummok recipe I think.

Outstanding DS. Congratulate your son Matt for us.

I spend half my life fishing, the other half I wasted!  ;D

Now THAT's a picture worth a thousand smokes, Matt!!! Way to hook 'em up!! Now "negotiate" with your dad to bring you across the pond and up to Alaska and catch some of these..... ;)

That pic was #2 grandaughter's first salmon caught last summer at the "kids" fishing hole, a place you can drive to.....About a half hour boat ride away is where I caught the one pictured below....... Rods are RIGGED & READY!!  I'm still "boatless", (other than the one Iceman loaned me ;) ), or I'd commit to take you out, Spook/Matt.....plenty of charters  (and "friends w/ boats") around her though!

Hey Dalby,
Twenty years from now , when Matt tells the story of his first trout to his kid.....
His favorite part of the story will be about who he caught it with. ;) 8)

Sulby. My home waters are Clypse & Kerrowdhoo but the're fly only, so I'm going to have to shell out for a fly outfit for the boy!

If it keeps him away from the tv, it's money well spent.

How very true!

Only occasionally go freshwater fishing so have never bothered getting a fly fishing outfit. When I do go the Cringle tends to be my favourite.  :)

Children fish FOC don't they?

Yep. So long as are not 13 this year, they get a freebie. As they don't ask for proof of age at the post office, I'm going to mlik this one till he starts shaving !!!!
