Yes, today's my birthday. I am still young. (Thanks Cajun for the note)

But I wanted to let all of you know the great thing my wife got me. I am big on games (as many of you have heard from the chats) but I am even more so into Puzzles. Always have been, its what as a young kid got me so into math, physics, and so much more. Possibly what drove me to where I am today in career.

Well, we saw a special this weekend on one of them morning news shows of Stave Puzzles. And she knew, she just had to get me one. Her and my son had already planned to get me a puzzle, she did not want to get me yet another woodworking tool (which is cool) but this was so much more.

She got me the "Jonah and the Whale" as a first puzzle. This was the best puzzle for me since 3-D puzzles came out. Puzzle came in small box, no picture just a name and hand written card from the maker. The maker signed a single piece. the pieces are made of wood, cherry wood back. And hand cut on a band saw. No puzzle is alike.

This is the puzzle, 40 pieces after I finished getting it together, took me 1.5 to 2 hours. yes, serious concentration. Can't wait to get more. But at these prices, that will be some time. But oh so cool. and yes, those are gaps in the puzzle, by design.

Happy b-day IKW. I like puzzles too, but really don't have a place to put 'em together (I'm a bit of a slob), so I usually do 'em on Yahoo.com games, and do a lot of crosswords and Sudoku puzzles (anything to keep the mind active).
