Title: Recipe site slow down
Post by: Oldman on April 11, 2007, 04:47:31 AM
I've noticed that since Bradley removed the sticky about the recipe site and I've been busy and not here a lot that the number of folks going to the recipe site is 1/2 of what it was last year.

Many here that post here don't have a sig - pic. You could help promote the recipe site by adding the following codes to your "Forum Profile" in the Signature section.

<URL=http://www.susanminor.org><img>http://www.susanminor.org/Rayeimages/smoker.gif</img>
</url><size=10pt><b><color=blue>Click On The Smoker For Our Time Tested And Proven</color>

The only thing you would have to change out is instead of using the <  > brackets change them to [  ] brackets.  I used the  <  > brackets so the codes could be seen.

Thanks if you can help promote our recipe site.

looks like ya need the brackets between /img and color, and then [/color ] (without the space, of course) behind the last word or exclamation point.

All I did was to go the site, highlight in the address bar, copied and pasted.

I tried 3 times and can't get it right.

dick: maybe an easier way would be to copy the code twice into a text editor notepad or similar, by copying twice you can compare and check for mistakes, then one by one delete < or > and replace with [ or ], when you're happy everything is ok, copy the edited code, and paste into the sig section of forum, making sure everything is deleted first?

Just copy paste this into notepad to start with:

<URL=http://www.susanminor.org><img>http://www.susanminor.org/Rayeimages/smoker.gif</img>
</url><size=10pt><b><color=blue>Click On The Smoker For Our Time Tested And Proven</color>

Then again just to check against:

<URL=http://www.susanminor.org><img>http://www.susanminor.org/Rayeimages/smoker.gif</img>
</url><size=10pt><b><color=blue>Click On The Smoker For Our Time Tested And Proven</color>

Hope this helps?..........LilSmoker(http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Good-Luck.gif)

Thanks, on yet another occassion, to Lil' Smoker.  Takes me back to those BASIC programming classes where you had to make sure each bracket or parenthesis was paired up with an opposite.  I don't do much of that anymore.

Cheers to all, and hope many others have as much fun with the recipes as I have.  Thanks for the effort and dedication Oldman

My way was simple.  Did not get the smoker on it, but the end result is the same IMHO. :)

Consiglieri &  dick621 : you're welcome guys, and coyote, whenever i get stuck on something that's exactly what i do, get my son to help me out!  ;D ;)

I think this was a great idea by Olds, the recipe site is so good, it's a sin for any BS owner not to know about it, so hopefully this will give things a kickstart  ;)

Gave this a try, but I don't have enough free character space. I'm down to 75 characters left.
