Title: Anyone else?
Post by: dewy on April 12, 2007, 04:06:05 PM
Make your own sausage?I started last winter when I wound up with way more deer then I could come up with good ways to cook.First batch was about 15 lbs of german sausage that wasnt real impressive, after that I added my own spices in with the kit, ground some garlic cloves, red onion, and went with brats and sausage links instead of ring sausage. Results were an additional 30 lbs of some really good eating, makes good gifts to for the guys that let me hunt thier land.

Gonna try some in the smoker this weekend with any luck.

dewy,

That looks like a sausage collision.  :D

I see casing tails, head-on crashes, compacts and stretch limo versions. Not sure about the sunflower seed ingredient, but I hope adult beverages were involved in the process.........

Dewy;

Welcome to the forum. There are many of us on this forum that make their own sausage; so you will get a lot of good advise here. To date I have yet to smoke any of my sausages in the BS.

Having 3 kids one being a hyperactie 2 yr old running wild in the house isnt conduccive to making sausages of a uniform length ;DThat and I had no idea what I was doing when I started.

Sunflower seeds were actually a bribe to get the older kids to control the younger one. ;D
