Well storm season is just around the corner. This week I go back out and fill up the storm supplies. Granted the house this year is hardened more than last year. (Roll Down Storm Shutters; Storm grade garage door. Big generator... gas oven/stove.... solar oven...just increase my fresh water to 450 gal.. etc...

But folks I'm so damn tired of it; that it is not even funny. I swear that if I did not have a good business here or thought I could move off and start a new one I would leave this state. However, at my age you just got to do what you have to do....

Frankly I don't feel we are going to skate by this year like we did last year. It is a number's game and the numbers are running against my area. I just hope that all of the hardened we have done to this house will withstand a major 4 or weak cat 5 storm.

Next year, when I have extra money, we are going to double tie down our 2" X 8 " rafters to the foundation. It is my own design as we are limited to the fact that this house was build in 1951 and there is no way to add to the current tie downs in the attic. This will be done on the outside and then hidden under our siding. Me thinks it will cost a bunch of potato chips....

Oh well rant is over with....

I echo Coyote's thoughts and wish you well. My we don't know how lucky we are this side of the pond that's all we do is:-
Complain if its raining, complain if its not,
Complain if its cold then complain its too hot
Complain if its icy or the wind blows a gale
Complain about the weather - we do without fail

And what have we got to complain about nothing compared to you guys.

Well Raye no matter where you go you will have problems here in louisiana we have hurricanes and crazy coonasses, Mid America tornados, Calif you have earth quakes wind swept fires, northern states snow east nor easters so just bite the bullet and make the best of it we will say a couple for you and the misses.... :'( The Cajun
