Title: Bad news
Post by: car54 on May 18, 2007, 02:27:31 PM
Today my grandson's father, Sargent Scott Brown of the 82nd airborne was killed in Bagdad. I believe by a road side bomb. This was his 4th tour.

Please pray for all involved and specially for my grandson, Taylor who is 11 years old.

I know that the members of the forum will do this.

Thanks much, Brad

QuoteThis was his 4th tour.
First please tell your grandson thank you for all that his dad did. Next, 4 tours is not acceptable to me. Just what the H E L L are we doing there, and for what? So a young boy will grow up without a Father?

I'm sorry for your family's great loss...

Day one. I drank too much last night. I woke up at 8:00  from the neighbor cutting their lawn. It turned out to be my grand son who lives across the street.I can not tell you how special Taylor is.He has a heart of gold. He has had a hard life and his father meant much to him. Here are some pictures of him. I do not have any digital pictures of his father.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I have a younger brother who served over in Iraq and I also served there in 1991.

I feel so bad for alll the families who have lost loved ones in that pit they call Iraq, I just wish we were allowed to finish this buisness when we were there in 1990 & 1991. The losses would have been fewer and the world wide support was better then and well, we would not be in the mess we are in.

God Bless us all.

Here are some television interviews with my daughter and my grandson. I was very impressed with the interviewer. The 1st thing that he did was to hug my daughter and grandson. The last thing that he did was to pray with the 2 of them.

Scott Brown was also a fellow Bradley Smoker owner. I was looking forward to helping him with his smoking technique. He has only used it a few times because of all the time he spent in Iraq.

Our hearts and prayers are with your family , Brad. As they are with all of our fighting men and women
who proudly wear the uniforms of the United States Military. Today is tougher as this strikes closer to
home...our smokin' community , even though I haven't actually met anyone face to face , so many feel like close
friends. It is also my prayer that Scott didn't die in vain.....May God Bless America , Our Leaders From the White House,
down to City Council...The Men and Women Who Proudly Wear the Uniforms of The United States Military,
And Those of Us Who Support Them.....While They're Here...While They're Away...And This Time...
As They Come Home.
                                                              Shoulders Together ,

my family feels for your loss and strenght of your family.  This loss will not be for nothing.  This is insipration for those to make this right.  Your son did what he felt was the right thing, you know it as he did. As we do.  We just need to make it right for him. I for one will do what I can for you and him and your grandson.

Prayers are with you and your son-in-law's family. Having lost my "best friend" brother in Vietnam, it is discouraging to see the little political snips taken even today when warriors fall while defending freedom. Those left behind hurt terribly but strong family members like you are best at making it mean something....your posts/pictures demonstrate that you're up to that mission......I'll echo Coyote's and other's comments supporting your son-in-law, his family, and you in prayer and action.......

A mother asked President Bush,

"Why did my son have to die inIraq ?"

Another mother asked President Kennedy,

"Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam ?"

Another mother asked President Truman,

"Why did my son have to die in Korea ?

Another mother asked President F.D. Roosevelt,

"Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima

Another mother asked President W. Wilson,

"Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France ?"

Yet another mother asked President Lincoln,

"Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg ?"

And yet another mother asked President G. Washington,

"Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge ?"

Then long, long ago, a mother asked...

"Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die

On a cross outside of Jerusalem ?"

The answers to all these are similar --

"So that others may have life and dwell in peace,

Happiness and freedom."

This was emailed to me with no author

and I thought the magnitude,

And the simplicity was awesome.

Love to All

The soldiers over in Iraq and Afghanistan are doing good work, but the price is high.

A co-workers son was in the thick of it in Afghanistan and for his heroic deeds above and beyond the call was awarded the Medal of Military Valour.

He is Master-Corporal Sean Hubert Niefer, M.M.V. (http://www.gg.ca/media/doc.asp?lang=e&DocID=5044) and although I do not know him, I am proud to know his father.

Canadians just lost their 55th soldier a few days ago.

My prayers to you and your son in laws family.
