Title: I had an interesting afternoon
Post by: Tiny Tim on June 05, 2007, 01:51:30 PM
My Fire Department/EMS unit got called out for a possible overdose of some kind of prescription pill.  We got to the scene with a light turnout (4 people), and I was still in my truck when another guy requested a Deputy because the patient was being combative.  A couple of minutes later, our other 2 responders came out and stood on the porch for a while.  Short time later the patient bolts from the house, and we find out a few minutes later that he's possibly heading to another house to get a gun.  Suddenly, we have 8-10 officers (you name it, Deputies, Highway Patrol, Detectives, DEA agents, etc.) in town looking for the guy.  An hour and 10 minutes after the page, the guy is in custody.

If only I could move better, I could have saved a bunch of screwing around by jumping out of my truck and tackling the SOB, hopefully breaking a few ribs (his, not mine) in the process.

It was, man.  Pool went into lockdown and everything.  Guess the residents around here don't like it when guns are mentioned on the scanner. :D
