Counter surf that is. Took some pork belly out of the freezer and had it on the counter to start defrosting. The belly was 2 2lb. slabs and yes he did. I walk into the kitchen and there he was gnawing on one having the time of his life. :o The only good thing is that it was still mostly frozen and he didn't devour any. ::) 2 months ago it was a carrot cake. He has good taste 'cause he only goes after the good stuff. Hang ten Ben, you sure can counter surf.
I hear ya HCT. My daughters yellow lab was kind enough to clean the counter for me one night. Had 2 New York strips on the counter, seasoned and ready to go on the grill. Went to put them on the grill and noticed the dog laying under the dining room table with 1/2 of a new york in front of her. Finished the trip to the counter and the second one was missing. All there was was streaks from the cutting board to the edge of the counter and the initial impact point on the tile floor. Now for the amazing part, I don't know how she got to them as I pushed them way back on the counter. Several feet back. That is what I call Surf and Turf.
Hard to get mad at a face like this:

When it comes to food those labs can preform amazing feats. You're right, when they look up at you all you can do is try to hold your laugh in. Ben is still going to the counter this morning sniffing around. :D :D
Hmmmmm....?!?!?!? Meat disappears...pooch in the house....pooch has smiling face....Hmmmmm?!!?!?
Think I'll change professions from fire investigator to "meat-i-cide" investigator....could be some reaaaal easy money there! ;) ;D
Good one kummok only multiply that by 6 smiling faces :o and you have a case to solve. :D :D
Years back Mother's dog (about 120 pounds) ate entire picnic ham... bone and all while Mother was at the store. Later he ate a capon (neuter male chicken) dressing and all.
At first Mother could not figure out what happened to the ham... then she notice that her dogs belly was somewhat larger... LOL~~!
How all those bones from the capon did not kill him is still a mystery to me to this day.

LOL Just somewhat larger. :o :D :D :D
Gotta laugh Old's. Sounds like mothers dog was trying to turn itself into it's own version of a living "Turduckin" ;D
