Title: What to do with Striped Bass?
Post by: BBQ Bart on June 23, 2007, 05:47:27 PM
My brother caught a 36lb Striped Bass on the beach in Fire Island yesterday. He's bring me some tomorrow. Any suggestions on what to do with it? Is cold smoking a good idea, and if so, any suggestions on how to do it (I'm a total newbie to this - only had my smoker for two weeks.

Thanks
BBQ Bart

It has been many a moon since I have had stripped bass.  I hate to say this but I don't believe there is enough oil in that fish to smoke successfully.

My suggestion is to fry it.... sorry.
