Title: Digital Smoker Unit on a OBS?
Post by: Skipystu on July 05, 2007, 09:02:59 AM
Hey guys,

My OBS smoking until is kinda full of fat from serious smokin for the 4th of July and I need to get a new one. I was wondering if it is possible to just get the digital smoking unit and attach it to my OBS?

In the end I should have gotten a DBS but from old posts it seemed like the OBS was better! If I had only known...  :'(

Thanks

Skippy

Is it the heating element or the smoke generator part that gunked up?

As Clarego mentioned, the Digital unit has a different set of power cords and it also has a temp probe sensor mounted in the cabinet with a cable to connect to the generator.  The generator will not work without the little cable connected which is why the DBSers have to buy a longer cord when doing a cold smoke.
